ASIA FRUIT LOGISTICA is Asia’s leading trade show for the international fresh fruit and vegetable business, attracting more than 11,000 top decision-makers from 74 countries to Hong Kong in 2016. Exhibitor numbers increased by almost 100 to 665 companies from 37 different countries.
ASIA FRUIT LOGISTICA is accompanied by Asiafruit Congress, which takes place on the day before the trade show, and combines the experience of FRUIT LOGISTICA, the world’s leading fresh produce exhibition, with Asia’s top international conference event.
International trade shows offer some of the most cost-effective opportunities for developing new export markets and finding buyers, and the USDA-endorsed USA Pavilion provides U.S. exhibitors with a choice of economical and hassle-free participation alternatives.
The 14 exhibitors within the USA Pavilion reported over USD $7.67 million in sales following the success of Asia Fruit Logistica 2016. See the official USDA press release here.
U.S. agricultural exports to Hong Kong rose 6.2 percent to $4.09 billion in 2014, eclipsing the previous record of US$3.85 billion in 2013. U.S. exports of consumer-oriented agricultural products to Hong Kong reached $3.82 billion, maintaining Hong Kong as the 4th largest export market after Canada, Mexico and Japan. Due to limited land resources and having a population of 7.2 million, Hong Kong relies on imports for over 95% of it food supply. U.S. products are considered to be among the highest in quality and reliability in terms of food safety (USDA).
